Welcoming Monty: SFX's Newest Community Member
St Francis Xavier College is thrilled to introduce the newest — and perhaps most loveable — member of our school community: Monty, our very own college dog.

Monty is a miniature Dachshund with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Owned by one of our dedicated staff members, Monty will be joining us on campus three days a week beginning Term 3, where he'll play a special role in supporting the wellbeing of our students.

Research consistently shows that interactions with animals can reduce stress and anxiety, lift mood, and create a sense of calm — all things we deeply value here at SFX. Whether students are navigating the pressures of study, assessments, or simply the everyday challenges of college life, Monty will be on hand to offer a quiet moment of comfort and connection.

Monty is fully vaccinated, beautifully calm, and absolutely full of love. He has been carefully prepared for his role in a busy school environment and is well-suited to life among our students and staff.

We could not be more excited to welcome Monty to the SFX family. Keep an eye out for him around campus from the start of Term 3 — we have a feeling he's going to be very popular.
